Bio-Catalytic Enhanced Cleaning Protocol for Coronavirus/COVID-19 Sanitation

Guidelines for cleaning and sanitizing surfaces of Coronavirus, from the United States Center for Disease Control (CDC), describe a two step process: STEP 1 – Cleaning and STEP 2 – Sanitizing.

The CDC guidelines: “Follow routine cleaning and disinfection procedures, using cleaners and water to pre-clean surfaces prior to applying an EPA-registered, hospital-grade disinfectant to frequently touched surfaces or objects for appropriate contact times as indicated on the product’s label.”

Eco-Cat Clean™ from Bio-Organic Catalyst, Inc. offers more effective cleaning in accordance with the STEP 1 cleaning of the CDC guidelines.

Coronavirus is not a living organism like a bacteria, but a protein molecule (RNA) covered by a protective lipid shell or encapsulation. A person becomes infected when the virus is absorbed by the victim’s mucous membranes through the eyes, nose or mouth. The Coronavirus can be picked up from surfaces.

Coronavirus on surfaces normally degrades and decomposes over several days depending on the characteristics of the surface. This decomposition can be rapidly accelerated when the lipid encapsulation is degraded by soap and water – STEP 1 of the CDC protocol.

Eco-Cat Clean™, used in the STEP 1 cleaning process, provides faster, safer, more effective and environmentally responsible cleaning that breaks down the lipid outer layer of the Coronavirus and prepares surfaces for the STEP 2 sanitizing.

Eco-Cat Clean™ has shown dramatic advantages over other cleaning products, in the rapid and complete breakdown of lipid structures such as fats, oils, and grease.

The lipid structure of the Coronavirus encapsulation is particularly vulnerable to rapid cleaning with Eco-Cat Clean™.

Eco-Cat Clean™ also prevents biofilms and biodegrades deeply embedded organic residues and substrates that can entrap and harbor Coronavirus and other pathogens.

Thoroughly clean all surfaces with Eco-Cat Clean™ by foaming or spraying on surfaces. Let product remain for 5-10 minutes, before proceeding to STEP 2.

All surfaces should be disinfected using an EPA – registered disinfectant/sanitizer. Always follow the specific instructions on the label to insure maximum protection.
