University of California, Davis: Two year research study on the benefits of Phyto-C3™ usage on wine grape growth, photosynthesis, water uptake, and improvement in yields
Take a look at this case study from the Department of Viticulture and Enology, University of California Davis, on Phyto-C3™.
Majority of viticulture regions are located in mid-latitudes characterized by weather variability and stressful environments relying on irrigation for mitigating environmental stress during the growing season and to ensure a profitable yield. The aim of this study was to characterize the response of grapevine (Vitis vinifera, L. cv. Cabernet Sauvignon) to different rates of Phyto-C3™ application during two growing seasons with contrasting precipitation patterns. Phyto-C3™ was initially marketed as an irrigation hose cleaning product. The experiment consisted of two Phyto-C3™ treatments (2 ppm and 4 ppm) and an untreated control (0 ppm) applied to the irrigation stream based on the weekly 50 % of crop evapotranspiration.
